Flexi bird calls…

Through listening to Freeez’ ‘I.O.U‘ in 1983 I learnt my vowels and because of this flexi disc,  my bird calls!

On this side you’ve got all the big ones. The hits!  Singing from a roof top or a high tree top in the summer evenings, the Blackbird, Song and Mistle Thrush. Track 4, the one you’ll hear as you stumble home in the early hours or in winter. The Robin.  Then your garden standards; the Wren, Chaffinch, Goldfinch and House Sparrow. Sadly now the rare groove of the song bird. Lastly the Yellowhammer.

On the flip, the more underground cuts. The ‘laughing’ Green Woodpecker. The Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Skylark (a personal favourite), Kestral (!), Lapwing, Curlew and Heron.

Listen : British Woodland Birdsongs
